MIT Solve
Funds global challenge teams at MIT through periodic calls for solutions to urgent social and technical problems.
MIT Solve is an MIT initiative that runs annual global challenge competitions. Solver teams — entrepreneurs, innovators, and social-impact ventures — compete for cash prizes and partner-funded resources addressing major global problems. The program has mobilized over $85 million to 460 Solver teams since inception, drawing 28,200+ applications from 190+ countries. Annual challenge cycles include a flagship Solve at MIT convening and a Challenge Finals event. Specific 2026 challenge themes and award amounts are published per-challenge when calls open. This is the only MIT-branded competitive program open to non-MIT-affiliated applicants globally.
