CPRIT Prevention
Provides CPRIT Prevention to support community-based cancer prevention screening grants texas organizations serving underserved populations.
CPRIT Prevention receives 10% of total CPRIT appropriations to fund evidence-based cancer prevention and screening interventions in Texas. The program prioritizes underserved communities and populations with elevated cancer risk, funding community-based approaches across the prevention continuum. Three grant mechanisms operate under a shared annual RFA cycle: Dissemination of CPRIT-Funded Cancer Control Interventions (scaling proven CPRIT-funded programs, max $450K/3 years), Primary Prevention of Cancer (behavioral and environmental interventions, max $1M new / $2.5M expansion, 5 years), and Cancer Screening and Early Detection (network-based screening delivery, max $1.5M new / $2.5M expansion, 5 years). FY2027 Cycle 1 RFAs were released February 25, 2026 with a June 10, 2026 deadline.
