Texas Semiconductor Innovation Fund

Invests Texas Semiconductor Innovation Fund to support state fund semiconductor research design manufacturing texas.

The Texas Semiconductor Innovation Fund was established in June 2023 via the Texas CHIPS Act (HB 5174) with an initial $698 million appropriation, expanded to approximately $948 million with an additional $250 million in 2025. The fund supports Texas leadership in semiconductor research, design, and manufacturing through grants and matching funds to eligible entities. Awards were actively being made as of May 2026. Two application tracks exist: one for private business entities with an established presence in Texas and one for state entities or institutions of higher education. Private entity applicants must demonstrate capacity to advance semiconductor industry leadership, undertake capital investment, and create jobs, along with local community notification and support documentation.
