XPRIZE Future Vision

Helps XPRIZE Future Vision for optimistic visions of human-technology futures.

XPRIZE Future Vision is an active creative competition under the XPRIZE Foundation, launched on March 9, 2026 with Google and Range Media Partners through the 100 Zeros initiative. It is a global prize for sci-fi short films and screenplays that present optimistic but plausible human-technology futures, and it belongs to the foundation's media and storytelling lane rather than its technical R&D prizes. The purse is more than $3.5 million. The grand prize includes $2.5 million in production funding and $100,000 in cash, four additional finalists receive $100,000 each, and a further $500,000 prize is still to be announced. Entrants submit a three-minute short film or trailer, a treatment of up to 12 pages, and a one-page cover sheet, and the competition allows live action, animation, AI-generated work, or hybrid production. This prize is built for narrative discipline as much as imagination. Strong submissions need to read as filmable, not just inventive, and they have to make the future feel both optimistic and technically believable. The finals are scheduled around the Moonshot Gathering in Los Angeles on September 25, 2026, so the real test is whether a concept can survive both story scrutiny and production scrutiny at the same time.
