XPRIZE Healthspan

Helps XPRIZE Healthspan for therapeutics that restore muscle for innovation and strategic advancement.

XPRIZE Healthspan is a global prize run by the XPRIZE Foundation and sponsored by Hevolution Foundation and SOLVE FSHD. It offers a $101 million purse for therapeutics that can restore muscle, cognitive, and immune function by at least 10 years, with a stretch goal of 20 years, in adults aged 50 to 80. The competition launched in 2023 and runs through 2030, so it is a long-horizon prize built around staged proof rather than a single submission window. The structure includes two phases with milestone awards paid along the way, and it also carries a $10 million FSHD Bonus Prize for solutions that substantially improve muscle function in people with facioscapulohumeral muscular dystrophy. Registration is formally closed, but discretionary late registration remains available at $10,000 after Milestone 1 or $100,000 after Milestone 2, depending on the phase. Eligible entrants include for-profit companies, nonprofits, universities, research organizations, and individuals, which keeps the field broad. The competition suits teams that can connect a credible therapeutic mechanism to measurable functional gains within a one-year-or-less treatment window. Success here depends on more than a compelling biology story: teams need a plan for staged testing, a path to human evidence, and a clear grasp of the endpoints XPRIZE is trying to move. That makes it especially relevant for aging, therapeutic, and translational groups with something concrete to validate rather than a concept still at the bench.
