The VVISDP (Viability and Validation of Innovation for Service Delivery Programme) is a DSTI initiative administered through TIA. It issues geographically targeted calls for proposals to test technologies that improve delivery of basic services — water, sanitation, waste management, connectivity, and human settlements — in specific South African municipalities. Calls are issued per municipality and project; the 2026 call covers the City of uMhlathuze in KwaZulu-Natal. Solutions must be commercially ready or at advanced pilot stage. Preference is given to African-developed technologies.
