Google Cloud for Startups is Google Cloud's corporate support program within Alphabet. It helps startups build on Google Cloud with cloud credits, training, technical support, Workspace benefits, and partner perks rather than cash grants.
The tiering is straightforward. Start gives up to $2,000 in credits for unfunded technology startups founded within the last five years. Scale covers funded startups through Series A with up to $100,000 in year one and up to $200,000 more in year two, plus support credits and business perks. AI-first startups can reach $350,000 in credits, and Web3 has its own track.
Eligibility is aimed at startups with a real product and a valid funding stage for the tier, while excluding government entities, nonprofits, agencies, consultancies, and similar businesses. The program is strongest for AI-heavy, hardware, and Web3 teams that want lower infrastructure costs and hands-on platform support rather than unrestricted capital, especially when they can map credits to a clear build, test, and launch plan.
