Red.es (Spanish Ministry for Digital Transformation and Civil Service)
Supports Spain's digital transformation agency by administering digital vouchers and innovation grants for small and medium enterprises.
Red.es is Spain's state-owned digital transformation operator, attached to the Ministry for Digital Transformation and Civil Service through the State Secretariat for Digitalization and Artificial Intelligence. It sits at the center of Spain's digital economy machinery and channels more than EUR 4 billion under the Plan de Digitalizacion de PYMEs 2021-2025 and Espana Digital 2026, using both Next Generation EU recovery funds and ERDF co-financing.
It funds mainly through digitalization vouchers and competitive grants. Kit Digital, Kit Consulting, and Bono de Conectividad support SMEs and self-employed applicants with digital adoption; RedIA and RedIA Salud back experimental-development projects in AI, cybersecurity, IoT, robotics, space, and related fields; and Acelera Pyme supports the delivery network around those programs. Known award levels range from EUR 2,000 to EUR 24,000 for the voucher-style lines, while RedIA runs as a EUR 130 million competitive grant call.
Red.es is strongest where applicants can work through partner channels rather than a direct ministry relationship. Delivery is mediated by digitalization agents, Acelera Pyme offices, chambers, and autonomous communities, so successful applicants usually arrive with a defined implementation plan, a qualified provider, and the right fiscal envelope for the project.
