NFOŚiGW (National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management Poland)
Funds Poland's environmental protection and water management through public capital for mitigation, treatment, and ecosystem resilience.
NFOŚiGW, the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management, is Poland's main public financier for environmental investment. It sits under the Ministry of Climate and Environment and backs projects in energy efficiency, renewable energy, water infrastructure, waste management, electromobility, and industrial decarbonisation. It is one of the central routes for turning national environmental policy into funded projects.
Its toolset combines grants, subsidised loans, regional and thematic calls, and EU pass-through finance. Flagship routes include Czyste Powietrze, Moje Ciepło, and Mój Prąd for households, plus programmes for local governments, public institutions, businesses, and energy-intensive sectors. The same platform also supports climate adaptation, water and sewage work, and other infrastructure that has to meet public-aid and technical rules.
Household applications usually run through the 16 regional WFOŚiGW funds, while larger climate and infrastructure work can draw on the Modernisation Fund, FEnIKS, KPO, and LIFE co-financing. The institution is strongest for applicants that need a public financing layer with environmental impact, administrative continuity, and a clear compliance path.
