The Advance Queensland Private Sector Pathways Program (PSP) is administered by the Queensland Department of the Environment, Tourism, Science and Innovation (DETSI) and provides co-funding of up to $200,000 for Queensland-based small and medium enterprises to run a six-to-twelve-month commercialisation trial in partnership with a corporate organisation. The 2026 round closed at 2pm on 3 June 2026 via the SmartyGrants portal. The program is designed to de-risk the commercialisation of new products, services, or technologies by requiring a genuine corporate partner to participate alongside the SME, signalling commercial validation and creating a shared-investment structure.
Eligibility is limited to Queensland-based SMEs that can secure a corporate partner willing to commit resources to a structured trial. DETSI provides the public co-funding contribution of up to $200,000, while the corporate partner supplies a complementary contribution; the exact ratio of DETSI funding to corporate contribution is governed by program guidelines and may vary by project. The trial period must run between six and twelve months. Nonprofit organisations, universities, and individuals are not eligible as lead applicants. No minimum company age or revenue threshold is stated in published materials.
Applicants must define a clear commercialisation objective, specify how the corporate partnership will validate or accelerate market entry, and demonstrate that the trial outcome is measurable within the funded period. Given that the 2026 round has closed, prospective applicants should monitor the DETSI Advance Queensland portal and SmartyGrants for the next round opening. Historically, PSP rounds open annually; engaging with DETSI and securing a committed corporate partner before the next round opens significantly improves application quality and competitive positioning.
