AWS Activate Portfolio Package is the higher-value tier of Amazon Web Services' startup credit program, providing up to $200,000 in AWS Promotional Credits to startups that hold an organizational ID from a recognized AWS Activate Provider. AWS Activate Providers include venture capital firms, accelerators, incubators, and other startup-support organizations that have registered with AWS to sponsor their portfolio companies. Credits are in-kind AWS Promotional Credits redeemable against infrastructure, managed data services, and AI/ML models including Amazon Bedrock — they cannot be converted to cash and expire within 12 to 24 months.

Eligibility mirrors the Founders Package in all respects except the provider-affiliation requirement: companies must be pre-Series B, founded within the last ten years, and hold an AWS account on a Paid Tier Plan. The key differentiator is possession of a valid Organizational ID from an AWS Activate Provider. Startups without such affiliation should apply under the Founders Package (up to $100,000). No equity is taken and no application fee applies.

Application is self-serve through the AWS Startups portal at aws.amazon.com/startups/credits on a rolling basis with no published open or close dates. Acceptance is based on automated eligibility verification rather than competitive scoring. Given the $200,000 ceiling, the Portfolio Package is meaningfully larger than the Founders tier and is well-suited for companies with significant cloud infrastructure needs — for instance, startups training models, processing large datasets, or running multi-region production workloads — where AWS cost offsets can materially extend runway during early growth.
