Eurostars is a joint European programme for innovative SMEs that lead international R&D consortia on market-driven research, development and innovation projects, co-funded by EUREKA member countries and the European Union. In Switzerland, Innosuisse manages Eurostars participation and funds the Swiss members of awarded projects according to Innosuisse's own funding conditions. The programme has no thematic restrictions — any technology area or sector is eligible, provided the project is market-oriented and led by an innovative SME.

The 2026 Q1 cut-off opened on 16 January 2026 with a submission deadline of 19 March 2026 at 14:00. Evaluation results were scheduled for publication in June 2026. Applications are submitted centrally through the Eureka Network portal (eurekanetwork.org), not through Innosuisse directly. Swiss participants receive funding under the Innosuisse funding conditions for Swiss Eurostars participants 2026, published 5 March 2026 as a PDF. Three mandatory financial templates are required at submission: a Financial Table, a 5-Year Forecast, and a Risk Template — all published by Innosuisse on 16 January 2026. Eligible applicants include SMEs, large companies, research organisations and universities, but the project lead must be an innovative SME.

As the Q1 2026 submission window has closed and evaluation results were due in June 2026, organisations interested in Eurostars should monitor EUREKA for subsequent cut-off dates, which typically recur multiple times per calendar year. Swiss applicants with a competitive international SME consortium and a clear route to market should contact the Swiss Eurostars coordinator (eureka@innosuisse.ch, +41 58 343 60 56) to confirm Swiss-specific funding conditions for the next open cut-off and to verify that their consortium structure meets the lead-SME requirement before preparing templates.

Open to SMEs, large companies, research organisations and universities. No thematic restrictions. Market-driven research, development and innovation projects led by innovative SMEs.
