New Green Savings (Nová Zelená úsporám)
Supports Czech households through New Green Savings to adopt energy-efficiency upgrades and heat systems.
New Green Savings (Nová zelená úsporám, NZU) is the Czech Republic's flagship household energy-efficiency programme, with a total of 117 billion CZK disbursed since 2009 and 55 billion CZK allocated in the current HOUSEnerg cycle. The programme funds thermal insulation of family houses and apartment buildings, window and door replacement, passive-house construction, solar photovoltaic systems, heat pumps, biomass boilers, rainwater storage, green roofs, mechanical ventilation with heat recovery, and electric vehicle charging stations. Applications can be submitted before, during, or after project completion via the dedicated portal at novazelenausporam.cz.
Eligible applicants include both individual homeowners and legal entities who are owners or builders of family houses and apartment buildings. The programme operates on a continuous, first-served basis until the allocation is depleted — there are no fixed application rounds or deadlines. Funding in the current cycle draws from Next Generation EU, the National Recovery and Resilience Plan, and the EU Modernisation Fund, having historically relied on revenues from EU emissions allowances.
SFŽP administers the programme on behalf of the Czech state. The HOUSEnerg cycle represents the current active vehicle for submissions; applicants with energy-efficiency renovation or construction projects in the residential sector can apply at any time while funds remain available.
