Propulsion system for next generation rotorcrafts
Funds early design work on a new high-power European turboshaft engine for the next generation of military rotorcraft.
Propulsion system for next generation rotorcrafts is a European Defence Fund (EDF) grant that funds early design work on a new high-power European turboshaft engine (above 3,000 shaft horsepower) for the next generation of military rotorcraft, since no civilian turboshaft engine exists in this power range to build on. This topic funds early-stage engineering work only: proposals must generate and …
This topic wants research into a new high-power engine (above 3,000 shaft horsepower) for the EU's next-generation military rotorcraft, since no civilian turboshaft engine exists in this power range to build on. It covers understanding future rotorcraft needs and deriving design parameters for the engine, developed alongside the rotorcraft itself since both take years and must stay consistent.
