European space services need faster data, more resilient links and closer integration between Earth observation and satellite communications. This topic funds research into the digital building blocks that can make those systems more flexible, secure and commercially useful.

Developing low- to mid-TRL digital technologies and building blocks for end-to-end satellite communications and Earth observation, with particular emphasis on their convergence. Projects may address robust energy-efficient SatCom and 5G/6G-compatible networks, optical communications, constellation and network management, reconfigurable EO/SatCom systems, onboard and ground smart computing, faster data availability and secure resilient commercial services.
