Horizon Beyond-State-of-the-Art Solar PV
Funds three €12M innovation projects that scale efficient, reliable and resilient solar-PV manufacturing beyond today’s commercial technologies.
Europe’s solar deployment goals require more resilient manufacturing capacity and faster movement from promising PV technologies to competitive products. This scheduled Horizon Europe Innovation Action funds three €12 million projects to demonstrate production technologies beyond the current commercial state of the art.

Demonstrate solar cells and modules with conversion efficiency beyond commercially available products while matching leading reliability and degradation performance. Projects develop multi-MWp-ready, energy-efficient and defect-free production technologies, equipment and pilot lines with digitalised and automated processing. The work targets commercialisation of innovative PV technologies, European manufacturing resilience and the EUPI-PV research agenda, with exploitation, scalability, deployment, business and KPI-reporting plans and a final TRL 7 objective.
