Horizon Low-Emission Livestock Feed Additives
Funds €6M Innovation Actions that test safer, affordable feed additives to cut livestock methane and improve feed efficiency.
Livestock production can create substantial methane and other greenhouse-gas emissions, while inefficient feed conversion increases feed demand, land use and pollution. This topic funds Innovation Actions that develop and test safe, practical and affordable feed additives and delivery strategies that improve feed efficiency and reduce environmental impacts.

Innovation for feed additives and delivery strategies that reduce methane, greenhouse-gas and air-pollutant emissions while improving feed efficiency across terrestrial livestock systems. Projects address at least farmed large ruminants, test safety and effectiveness toward TRL 7, and cover animal health, welfare, performance, product quality, data standards, farmer uptake, consumer perception and the socio-economic and environmental effects of deployment.
