Horizon Euratom: Nuclear Platform Coordination
Funds one €500K project that coordinates Europe's nuclear research network, connecting reactor science with medical and space uses of the field.
Europe's nuclear research doesn't sit inside one platform. Reactor safety, radioactive waste disposal and radiation protection each have their own European technology platform, and nuclear science is also showing up more in fields that have nothing to do with power generation — medicine, industry, space. This topic funds the coordination work that ties those pieces together, not new reactor techno…
Coordination and networking work that runs the Sustainable Nuclear Energy Technology Platform (SNETP) through 2026-2027: structuring its own activities across nuclear-energy technology areas, consolidating its networks together with the geological-disposal platform (IGDTP) and the European radiation-research platforms (MEENAS), and steering all three toward cross-sectoral and non-power uses of nuclear science — heat and electricity supply, energy for space and maritime propulsion, and medical and industrial applications of ionising radiation. Funded activities are studies, data collection, analysis, workshops, roadmap and deployment-strategy development, and dissemination to policymakers and stakeholders — not hardware development or reactor R&D itself.
