Funds trustworthy AI biomarker methods that predict chronic-disease progression and treatment response for personalised care.
Many clinically relevant biomarkers have not reached practice because chronic diseases are heterogeneous and a single-biomarker approach cannot reliably predict progression or treatment response. This two-stage Research and Innovation Action supports collaborative development of multimodal predictive biomarkers using established AI methods rather than novel AI from scratch.

Adapt established AI methods to combine existing and candidate multimodal biomarkers with longitudinal clinical studies and Real-World Data for chronic non-communicable diseases excluding cancer. Develop trustworthy, accurate, reliable and reproducible predictive biomarkers, validate them in independent cohorts and clinical studies, and provide clinician-facing decision tools, GDPR-compliant data practices and regulatory and exploitation pathways.
