Climate risks do not stop at national borders. A flood, drought, wildfire or coastal event can affect communities on both sides while planning, data and responsibilities remain divided. This topic funds projects that help neighbouring regions prepare and act together.

Develop, test and demonstrate integrated solutions for climate risks that cross national borders, including water scarcity, flooding, storms, wildfires, sea-level rise and cascading ecosystem-service risks. Establish shared risk classifications and acceptable-risk levels, coordinate national and regional governance, prioritise nature-based and ecosystem-based adaptation, and embed solutions in public adaptation plans. Demonstrate at least two distinct cross-border sites in adjacent regions on both sides of a border, identify at least one replicating site, involve SSH and local or regional authorities, and collaborate with the Mission Community of Practice, Mission Implementation Platform, UNDERPIN and CLIMAAX where relevant.
