Coasts, rivers, waterfront cities and islands are exposed to floods, erosion, sea-level rise, drought, pollution and biodiversity loss. This topic funds practical Mission Ocean and Waters projects that help those places adapt while restoring the ecological functions that protect communities.

Testing and demonstrating integrated solutions for climate resilience in one Mission basin, covering riparian and coastal areas, waterfront cities and islands. Projects must run at least six demonstrations in at least three basin countries, monitor ecological and societal outcomes, empower public authorities and citizens, create replication and scale-up plans, engage at least five associated regions, and support biodiversity and water resilience.
