Many neighbourhood assets struggle to secure patient, locally grounded investment while residents and community organisations have little say in their ownership or long-term stewardship. Developing and validating collective community investment or ownership models that enable diverse local stakeholders to invest in, own, manage and benefit from neighbourhood commercial, housing, transitional or mixed-use assets. Projects must choose a community equity or occupant equity model, validate it in at least three neighbourhoods across different countries, assess socioeconomic and environmental impacts, address legal and market barriers and provide routes to scale.
