Funds €3.5M projects that combine local knowledge and research to make neighbourhood green transitions fairer.
Affordable housing, energy poverty, access to quality green space and other social issues shape how people experience and engage with the green transition. This New European Bauhaus action asks projects to combine local and community knowledge with scientific methods that are not usually brought together, so that solutions reflect lived experience and fairness as well as technical evidence.

Develop an innovative transdisciplinary approach that combines knowledge from local communities and non-scientific actors with scientific knowledge and formal research methods to address social issues affecting fair green transitions in neighbourhoods. Define the issue and local context, test the approach in at least three urban, peri-urban and rural neighbourhoods in different Member States or Associated Countries, and deliver guidance for decision-making, policymaking, design, planning and public-service design. Include SSH expertise, participatory integration of actors and disciplines, nature-positive transformation and at least 0.8% of the budget for the New European Bauhaus hub for results and impact.
