Eureka Biotech Call for Projects (Appel à Projets)

Supports multinational biotech cooperation for cross-country biomedical and agricultural innovation.

OpenBpifranceFranceDeep-tech · core fit

Eureka Biotech 2026 is a multilateral call organized under the Eureka Network Projects framework, co-launched by France together with 15 partner countries: Austria, Belgium, Canada, Chile, Estonia, Germany, Lithuania, Netherlands, Singapore, South Africa, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and Turkey. The program targets joint R&D in biotechnology across four domains — advanced bioproduction and innovative ecosystems, next-generation therapies and technologies, agricultural and veterinary innovation, and advanced diagnostics and data technologies. Each national participant finances its own laureates under domestic rules; in France, Bpifrance administers and funds the French partners.

French-eligible applicants are PMEs and ETIs with up to 2,000 employees. The financing instrument is a Prêt Innovation R&D (repayable loan), ranging from €50,000 to €3,000,000, issued by the relevant regional Bpifrance directorate. Consortium rules require at least one French company and one partner from a participating Eureka Biotech country. No single country's partners may represent more than 70% of the total project budget. Maximum project duration is 36 months. Universities, research organisations, non-profits, and solo applicants are not eligible for French funding under this instrument.

The application deadline is 25 September 2026 at 23:59. Submissions must be filed simultaneously on two platforms: the Eureka SmartSimple portal and Bpifrance en Ligne. Both submissions are required; a filing on one platform alone is insufficient. Teams considering this mechanism should note that the French support is a loan rather than a non-repayable grant, and should budget repayment accordingly. Enquiries can be directed to international.innoproject@bpifrance.fr.

Funds multilateral France-led biotech R&D consortia with partners from 15 countries, covering advanced bioproduction, next-generation therapies, agricultural and veterinary innovation, and advanced diagnostics.
