The track wants a therapeutic treatment, completed in under a year, that measurably improves FSHD-related muscle outcomes -- shown through reduced fat infiltration in muscle tissue or a change in a relevant biomarker, plus a corresponding gain in muscle function compared with controls. It runs in parallel with the wider XPRIZE Healthspan competition, and teams can enter this track alongside or instead of the main one.
