The Commission wants higher-maturity demonstrations (aiming for TRL 7-8) of digital technologies for satellite communication and Earth observation: on-board edge computing and AI-assisted image processing, standardised ground-segment data flows, and open hardware building blocks such as RISC-V based processors. Each proposal must clearly identify one main focus area — SatCom, EO on-board processing, or shared cross-domain building blocks — even if it touches more than one.
