The European Commission pays for this Research and Innovation Action as a lump sum rather than reimbursing itemised costs, following the Horizon Europe lump-sum model used across the work programme. The Commission is looking for improved numerical models and data assimilation methods for trace gases, aerosols and deposition fluxes, plus new pollen source models covering allergenic species beyond the six it already tracks (alder, birch, olive, grass, mugwort and ragweed). It wants the resulting tools handed over to the operational CAMS global and regional forecasting systems, with the software released under an open licence.
