Pilot access schemes to Technology Infrastructures for startups and SMEs
Funds around two coordination projects, each worth EUR 1.5 to 2.5 million, to give European startups and SMEs subsidised access to research and technology facilities.
This is a Coordination and Support Action funded as a single lump sum, evaluated in one submission round. The Commission has set a topic budget of EUR 5,000,000 and expects to fund two projects, sized between EUR 1,500,000 and EUR 2,500,000 each. Because the CSA's job is to channel subsidised facility access to outside startups and SMEs rather than do the underlying research itself, the action is …
Proposals must design and pilot a multi-site access scheme that lets startups, scaleups and other innovative SMEs use technology-infrastructure facilities to test, upscale and validate new products, building on existing single-access-point networks such as Open Innovation Test Beds. The scheme must set up a centrally managed and funded access programme with simplified, standardised access conditions applied across the EU, and should also work to make the underlying infrastructure services themselves more accessible and usable. Success is measured by how far the scheme broadens the user base — especially reaching startups and scaleups without existing local access — and by stronger transnational collaboration and best-practice sharing among the participating Technology Infrastructures.
