Support for managing specified tree pests and diseases
Tree Health Pilot is a competitive grant scheme for people who manage specified trees or woodlands affected by named pests and diseases. It supports work to slow pest and disease spread, protect trees, and help treescapes recover.

The scheme supports trees or woodlands with larch trees with Phytophthora ramorum; spruce with a statutory plant health notice for Ips typographus or in the proactive spruce removal area; sweet chestnut trees with Phytophthora ramorum or sweet chestnut blight; oak trees with oak processionary moth in the established area; and ash trees with ash dieback. Support covers felling and treatment to slow the spread of pests and diseases and protect the wider treescape, and restocking for resilience to enable treescape recovery. There are no grants for felling ash with ash dieback. Individual applications for larch in woodland and sweet chestnut in woodland cannot receive restocking or capital items grants through this pilot.
