Challenge-Driven GenAI4EU Booster in Apply AI prioritised sectors
Pays three European consortia EUR 15 million each to run generative-AI competitions in aerospace, pharma or telecoms, re-granting up to EUR 2 million per finalist SME team that competes.
Grants are awarded largely by ranking, but the Commission also guarantees at least one winning proposal in each of the three sectors -- aerospace, pharma/drug development and telecommunications -- provided that proposal clears every threshold, so the portfolio doesn't end up skewed toward just one or two sectors. Funded projects are expected to start their generative-AI work around Technology Read…
The Commission wants a consortium of major industry players in aerospace, pharmaceuticals or telecommunications — a proposal must pick just one of the three — to define a challenging generative-AI problem and run a competition that draws in SME developers to solve it. Each of the three funded projects covers a different sector, and the projects are expected to collaborate with each other on shared processes.
