Funds research into industrial processing technologies that cut the use of hazardous substances and reduce health, safety and environmental risks beyond CO2.
Funded projects must demonstrate reduced use of hazardous substances, develop new processing technologies with lower non-CO2 impacts, minimise adverse effects on material durability and recyclability, and where relevant develop sampling and monitoring methods for less-known pollutants. The call wants research into reducing the use of hazardous substances in industrial production processes and materials, developing novel processing technologies with lower health, safety and environmental impacts, and improving monitoring of emerging or less-known pollutants not yet regulated at EU level. GHG emissions are outside this topic's scope, which instead covers pollutant emissions to air, water and soil.
