The Commission wants a project that prepares the ground for large-scale, cross-European field tests of connected and automated vehicles — defining the technical, infrastructure and regulatory prerequisites, identifying test sites, and building a cross-sector stakeholder forum — rather than running the demonstrations itself. Proposals should build on past CCAM Partnership projects and, as a Societal Readiness pilot, bring in social-science expertise alongside the engineering.
