The Commission wants proposals that pick exactly one of three areas — sustainability and social acceptance of hydropower or bioenergy, skills shortages limiting clean-energy deployment, or complexity in grid-based renewable fuel or solar-fuel value chains — and develop solutions that improve Europe’s energy security in that area. It wants proposals to build on the Commission’s own study of clean energy R&I opportunities for European energy security.
