Advancing basic knowledge and developing tools for sustainable management of key migratory fish species
Funds research building monitoring tools and management strategies to protect migratory marine and diadromous fish populations.
This is a single-stage Research and Innovation Action, evaluated with the programme's standard criteria, weighting, thresholds and post-decision timeline rather than a topic-specific scoring table. Activities may start at any technology readiness level but are expected to reach TRL 4-5 by the project's end. Citizen science is encouraged at every stage of the work, not just at the end for outreach,…
This call wants research that develops methods to assess the effectiveness of conservation measures for migratory fish, and tools to reduce human-caused mortality across their habitats. It wants new knowledge on how climate and non-climate pressures — including fisheries, infrastructure like hydropower, and pollution — interact to affect these species, plus stronger cross-border data collection systems.
