This call funds multicentre, multinational randomised controlled clinical trials testing bacteriophage (phage) therapy — personalised phage preparations or ready-to-use phage cocktails — as a stand-alone or combination treatment for bacterial infections that don't respond to conventional antibiotics. It's open to any pathogen causing difficult-to-treat infections from antimicrobial resistance or biofilms, any clinical indication, and any route of administration.
