Self-Help Group Formation Incentive (DAY-NULM)

Pays a one-time Rs10,000 incentive to newly formed urban women's self-help groups.

Municipal staff hold ward meetings encouraging women to form self-help groups; once a group is formed and opens a joint savings account at a nationalized bank, the Government of India pays it a one-time Rs10,000 incentive. The group can also access separate bank loans and subsidies to fund income-generating activities, administered locally through the urban body.

This is a one-time seed incentive for groups of urban poor women in Uttarakhand who form a Self-Help Group (SHG) as part of the national DAY-NULM livelihoods mission. It's paid to the group as a whole, not to any individual business or venture.
