MAKE IT Prize Facilities Track
Awards U.S. manufacturers up to $4.5 million to build shovel-ready clean energy factories.
Competitors first submit a statement of intent, then Phase 1 asks for a plan to establish the facility -- about 12 winners get $500,000 each and advance to Phase 2, where up to four winners who prove they are shovel-ready (site control, permits, financing and community engagement) each receive $4.5 million. The track runs on Primary and Secondary Timelines and closes once its roughly $30 million pโฆ
The Facilities Track backs U.S.-based entities building domestic manufacturing capacity for clean energy technology components, covering hydrogen and fuel cell production, electric grid and long-duration energy storage components, and carbon capture and storage equipment. It looks for teams with demonstrated manufacturing commitment and capability who can move a specific facility from planning toward being shovel-ready.
