Manolo Sanchez Prize
Awards $25,000 to a venture that expands financial access for underserved communities.
The Manolo Sanchez Prize is part of Yale's Startup Yale competition and targets for-profit, nonprofit or community-led ventures working on financial inclusion for underserved communities. A panel reviews written applications against five criteria: how clearly the problem is defined and how large it is, how innovative the proposed model or product is, early evidence of traction such as user feedbac…
The prize backs for-profit, nonprofit or community-led ventures that create or improve access to financial services for underserved communities — people who are underbanked, underfunded, underinsured or otherwise financially excluded. It covers credit, insurance, payments and remittances, savings and personal finance tools, reachable through fintech, policy, partnerships or financial education.
