Cadenas Productivas is Nacional Financiera's (NAFIN) electronic reverse-factoring and supply-chain finance platform, designed to give SME suppliers immediate liquidity against confirmed accounts receivable from large buyers. The platform operates two complementary mechanisms: direct supplier liquidity, in which an SME discounts a confirmed invoice from a large buyer to receive payment immediately rather than waiting for the buyer's payment term; and distributor finance, which extends credit to a buyer's distribution network. Funds are received via the supplier's preferred commercial bank account. There is no enrollment cost for suppliers, and affiliation advisory is provided free of charge.

Eligible participants are Mexican SMEs that supply goods or services to participating large buyers, which include federal and state government entities and major corporate buyers that have registered on the NAFIN platform. Eligibility is driven by the buyer relationship rather than the supplier's standalone creditworthiness: the confirmed purchase order or invoice from the large buyer serves as the primary credit support. Individual suppliers do not need to be formally rated or present years of financial history as they would for a conventional bank loan, making the program accessible to smaller and younger suppliers.

Access begins when the large buyer registers its supply chain on the platform and uploads confirmed payables. Registered suppliers can then log in to NAFIN's Cadenas Productivas portal, view outstanding invoices, and elect to discount individual receivables for immediate payment at a bank-set discount rate. No competitive review process or approval panel is involved. Cadenas Productivas is a factoring financial instrument, not a grant; the supplier receives the invoice face value minus a financing discount. SMEs supplying government or large corporate buyers who face cash-flow gaps between delivery and payment are the primary beneficiaries.

Electronic reverse-factoring platform enabling Mexican SME suppliers to large public-sector or corporate buyers to immediately liquidate accounts receivable at a discount, with no enrollment cost.
