DEI+ — Energy and Climate Innovation Demonstration
Funds Dutch energy and climate pilot projects to test deployment-ready solutions and emissions reductions.
DEI+ — Energy and Climate Innovation Demonstration is the Netherlands' demonstration subsidy for energy and climate projects under the Netherlands Enterprise Agency, commissioned by the ministries responsible for climate and economic policy. It supports pilot and demonstration projects that reduce CO2 emissions, with entrepreneurs and end-users eligible alongside research organisations. The 2026 portfolio covers general energy and climate innovation, gasification of residual streams, building sustainability, hydrogen and green chemistry, biobased circular, and a circular economy stream that is temporarily closed. Projects can run up to four years, must start within six months of approval, and are funded on a first-come, first-served basis until the budget is spent. The Dutch portal is run in Dutch only, so applicants work through the national language track. The program suits applicants with a pilot-ready concept and a route to practical deployment rather than early research. Strong applications are specific about the emission-reduction pathway, the implementation partner, and the timetable for getting from approval to start without delay.
