Innovation Norway Export Trade Fair Grant (Eksportfremstøt)
Funds Norwegian exporters' participation in global trade fairs by supporting booth costs and market-entry exposure.
Innovation Norway's Eksportfremstøt (Export Trade Fair Grant) is a rolling grant program providing NOK 20,000 to NOK 70,000 to Norwegian SMEs that exhibit their own developed products or solutions at international trade fairs. The program is available to companies with between 1 and 99 employees, and grants can be received for up to two trade fairs within any 12-month period. Applications are submitted through Innovation Norway's project portal at prosjekt.innovasjonnorge.no, and the intake is continuous with no fixed competition deadline.
Eligibility is limited to for-profit Norwegian companies with 1 to 99 employees. The company must exhibit products or solutions that it has itself developed — resellers of third-party products or companies attending fairs in a non-exhibiting capacity do not qualify. Nonprofits, universities, research organizations, and individuals are excluded. The program operates under EU GBER state aid rules registered with Norway's ESA. Pre-approved international fairs can be nominated through a separate Microsoft Forms process maintained by Innovation Norway.
Because awards range between NOK 20,000 and NOK 70,000 — consistent with partial reimbursement of exhibition stand and travel costs — the program functions as a cost-reduction mechanism for export market entry rather than a full subsidy. SMEs entering a new international market for the first time and using trade fair presence to test buyer interest are the primary target. Companies should apply before or promptly after confirming their participation in an approved fair, as the rolling intake means decisions are made on an ongoing basis. The two-fair-per-year limit means that companies with active multi-market export strategies can access the program for both primary and secondary target markets within a single year.
Rolling grants of NOK 20,000–70,000 for Norwegian SMEs (1–99 employees) to exhibit their own developed products or solutions at international trade fairs, up to two fairs per 12-month period.
