NSF-UEFISCDI Lead Agency Opportunity

Funds joint US-Romanian teams in mathematical and physical sciences, with NSF paying the US side and UEFISCDI funding the Romanian research organisation's share.

There is a two-stage process: the US principal investigator emails an Expression of Interest to NSF, and the Romanian partner separately sends supporting declarations to UEFISCDI by email. Projects run 24 to 48 months under NSF rules, with UEFISCDI funding the Romanian team's share of the joint budget.

Proposals must fall within Mathematical Science and align with the funding parameters of both NSF's Division of Mathematical Sciences and UEFISCDI. The Romanian lead researcher must hold a PhD and show internationally recognised results in Mathematical and Physical Sciences.
