EDBI Strategic Investments is the direct equity investment program of EDBI (Economic Development Board Investments), the investment arm of the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB). EDBI invests in growth-stage technology companies as a co-investor alongside private venture capital and institutional investors, with a strategic mandate to anchor globally competitive companies to Singapore and strengthen the city-state's position in priority deep-technology sectors. EDBI does not operate as a grant-making body; all investments are structured as minority equity stakes executed at market terms, pari-passu with private lead investors.

Investment tickets range from approximately SGD 5 million to SGD 200 million or more, making EDBI one of the largest public technology investors in Southeast Asia by check size. Eligible companies are expected to demonstrate commercial traction, a credible path to meaningful Singapore-anchored operations (such as a regional headquarters, R&D center, or manufacturing presence), and alignment with EDB's sectoral priorities. Priority sectors include healthcare and biomedical sciences, deep technology, ICT, and advanced manufacturing — with AI infrastructure, semiconductors, biotech, hardware, and space-adjacent technologies among the specific verticals represented in the investment mandate.

For founders, EDBI's principal value beyond capital is its relationship with the EDB network, which can facilitate business development, regulatory navigation, and talent acquisition within Singapore. Applications are typically initiated through the EDB investment promotion channel rather than an open call; EDBI tends to co-invest in rounds already led or joined by recognized private institutions. Companies targeting Singapore as a regional hub and raising a Series B or beyond are the most natural fit for EDBI's mandate and ticket range.

Provides growth-stage minority equity investment of SGD 5–200 million into deep-technology companies anchoring operations in Singapore across healthcare, ICT, semiconductors, and advanced manufacturing.
