Mubadala Investment Company is a sovereign wealth fund wholly owned by the Government of Abu Dhabi, managing assets of approximately USD 385 billion (AED 1.414 trillion) across more than 80 countries. The fund deploys capital commercially across six investment platforms: Private Equity (42% of portfolio), Public Markets (20%), Real Assets including real estate and infrastructure (17%), Alternatives (16%), Credit and Special Situations (5%), and a dedicated UAE Investment Platform for domestic opportunities. Its stated mandate is to generate sustainable financial returns for its shareholder, the Government of Abu Dhabi, through an entrepreneurial and commercially-focused investment approach.

Mubadala concentrates sector exposure in healthcare, life sciences, technology, energy and renewables, financial services, materials, and consumer and business services. It operates internationally through offices in London, Moscow, New York, and Beijing, alongside its Abu Dhabi headquarters. All capital is deployed through equity, credit, or real-asset investment transactions; Mubadala operates no grant, sponsorship, or non-dilutive funding programs. Companies gain access to capital via commercial investment transactions, not competitive applications. Notable portfolio stakes include Group 42 (G42) and satellite operator Yahsat.

For applicants seeking equity investment rather than grant funding, Mubadala's Private Equity and Alternatives platforms are the relevant entry points. The fund targets TRL 5–9 companies operating in deeptech and strategic sectors aligned with Abu Dhabi's long-term economic diversification agenda. Eligibility is effectively limited to for-profit entities; the fund does not invest in nonprofits. Given its sovereign ownership and scale, investment decisions reflect both commercial return expectations and Abu Dhabi's strategic priorities in technology, energy transition, and supply-chain resilience.

Sovereign equity and credit investment by the Abu Dhabi government's wealth fund across technology, energy, healthcare, and strategic sectors globally.
