Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Program
Pays Taiwanese SMEs government grants of up to roughly US$375,000 across three phases to research, develop and commercialise new technologies, services or products.

The programme backs Taiwanese small and medium enterprises doing genuinely new R&D, split into Innovative Technologies (new or standard-raising technical work) and Innovative Services (new service models, platforms or digital content). It exists to lower the cost and risk of that R&D so SMEs keep investing in innovation.
