MassChallenge UK is a nonprofit accelerator operating out of Royal Docks, East London, that selects early-stage startups globally for a four-month equity-free acceleration programme. The 2026 cohort is the organisation's fourth annual edition since launching in the UK in 2023, and it doubled in size from 41 startups in 2025 to 80 startups in 2026. Applications for the 2026 cohort closed on 15 April 2026, with the programme running from 23 June through 29 October 2026, culminating in an awards ceremony at City Hall London on 23 October 2026.
The programme targets companies that have raised less than £3 million in capital and achieved less than £3 million in sales, with no UK incorporation requirement — the 2025 cohort spanned 13 countries. Eligible sectors include Artificial Intelligence and Autonomy, Cybersecurity, Sustainable and Efficient Industry, Conversational AI, Generative AI for Design, Perceptual Intelligence, and Healthcare and Medtech. No equity is taken and there is no participation fee. Finalists compete for a CHF 1 million cross-cohort prize pool shared with MassChallenge Switzerland, plus a £20,000 special prize for the top UK startup. Participants receive office space at Royal Docks, mentorship from over 400 independent experts, and access to 20+ corporate partners with combined revenues exceeding £300 billion.
Over 65% of past finalists have secured investment during or immediately after the programme. The application process runs through the MassChallenge website. Startups must be willing to travel to London and Lausanne for approximately ten days over the four months. Corporate partners in the 2026 cohort include BAE Systems, Whitworth Bros., Queen Mary University of London, and University of East London, among others.
Early-stage startups globally across AI and Autonomy, Cybersecurity, Foodtech and Agritech, Climate, and Healthcare and Medtech sectors, with no UK incorporation required.
