The Venture Catalyst Challenge (VCC) 2026, run by Imperial College London's Imperial Enterprise Lab, is a three-month accelerator and pitch competition offering £100,000 in equity-free prizes to 25 teams across five deep-tech tracks: AI & Robotics, Creative & Consumer, Digital & Finance, Energy & Environment, and Health & Wellbeing. Applications opened April 27, 2026 and close June 14, 2026. The programme begins August 13, 2026 and culminates in a Grand Final on November 4, 2026. All prize funding is 100% equity-free — Imperial College takes no ownership stake in participating ventures.

The prize structure includes a £20,000 Grand Final Prize, five £10,000 Track Winner Prizes (one per track), and three £10,000 special awards: the Moonshot Prize, the Impact Prize, and the Tech for Good Prize. Teams are limited to ventures that have raised no more than £100,000 in non-grant funding; grant funding received from other programs does not count toward that ceiling. The team lead must be a current Imperial student (undergraduate through PhD level), an Early Career Researcher at Imperial, or an alumnus who graduated in 2023 or later. Team members may include non-Imperial participants.

Beyond the prizes, all 25 selected teams receive one-to-one coaching, expert meetings, workshops, and pitch training throughout the three-month programme. To maximize competitiveness, applicants should identify a clearly defined deep-tech problem, align their venture clearly to one of the five tracks at application, and demonstrate early technical or commercial progress. Ventures that have already exceeded the £100,000 non-grant funding threshold are categorically ineligible regardless of team affiliation.

Equity-free prize competition awarding up to £100,000 across five deep-tech tracks — AI & Robotics, Creative & Consumer, Digital & Finance, Energy & Environment, and Health & Wellbeing — for Imperial-affiliated startup teams.
