Skills Bootcamps Tees Valley is a Department for Education funded programme delivered locally by the Tees Valley Combined Authority under the Government's Lifetime Skills Guarantee. The programme offers free, flexible training courses of up to 16 weeks for adults aged 19 and over who are resident in the Tees Valley. Seven sector areas are currently covered: Digital, Logistics, Engineering, Advanced Manufacturing, Bioscience, Clean Energy, and Green Industries. Courses are available in multiple formats including classroom-based, online, on-the-job, and short-course delivery, designed to fit around family and work commitments. On successful completion of a bootcamp, participants receive a guaranteed interview with a local employer.

Individuals aged 19 or over are eligible to participate at no personal cost. Employers can also use the programme to upskill existing staff, subject to a co-investment contribution: small and medium-sized enterprises pay 10% of course costs while large employers pay 30%. Specific course costs vary by bootcamp and provider and should be confirmed directly with the training provider. The programme is not a cash grant to employers but a heavily subsidised training provision funded by the DfE and commissioned through TVCA. Available bootcamps are searchable through the National Careers Service portal.

The programme runs on a rolling basis with courses starting throughout the year. Adults seeking to enter employment, change careers, or build sector-specific skills recognised by local employers are the primary beneficiaries. Employers looking to develop their workforce in priority sectors benefit from the subsidised co-investment model. Applicants should search the National Careers Service portal for current Tees Valley bootcamps and apply directly with the course provider, as there is no separate TVCA application form for individual participants.

Sector-specific skills training for adults aged 19+ in Tees Valley, covering digital, logistics, engineering, advanced manufacturing, bioscience, clean energy, and green industries.
