Springboard Awards back basic biomedical scientists within five years of their first independent academic post -- for example a lecturer -- who hold a salaried position but don't yet have significant research funding. Applicants must have their host institution's support and be based at an eligible UK higher education institution; practising clinicians are not eligible.
