Not every promising autism idea is ready for a clinical trial. This award funds the step before that — proving a high-risk idea is worth the money a trial would need.
What's funded is innovative, high-risk, high-reward research aimed at improving outcomes for Autistic individuals — work that could open a genuinely new line of investigation, not incrementally extend an existing one.

Innovative, high-risk, high-reward autism research aimed at critical discoveries or major advancements for Autistic individuals, addressing a named FY26 Area of Interest or an independently justified critical problem, question or need, optionally structured as a two-PI Partnering PI project. No clinical trial is required.
